Summer is almost here

That time of year that we are all longing for is almost here, yes, I'm talking about summer! The great British summer is usually an unpredictable one, with as many rainy days as there are hot sunny ones. But if you're considering escaping the inclement British climate for one that is altogether warmer this summer, then why not book a last minute break online.

Discount Deals

There are so many websites offering discount breaks at this time of year that it can be hard to know where to start. With summer looming, prices are set to rise, so this is a great time to book a last minute break and ensure you get at least a couple of weeks of sunshine to work on your tan this year! The weather in the UK so far in 2013 has been strange to say the least, with parts of the country seeing sweltering temperatures reaching 27 degrees centigrade in early May, then sharply dropping back down to single figures as the month went on. Why not book a beach break in Turkey or Greece - temperatures at this time of year are high, there's plenty of sun and you need do nothing more than lay back on your beach towel with the latest best seller and enjoy your well-earned break! Even if you're booking a last minute deal don't forget to take out travel insurance to cover you whilst you're away. Make sure it includes you for accident and illness abroad as well as your luggage and belongings - those travelling with a lot of gadgets might wish to add gadget cover to their travel insurance policy.

Exotic Destinations

If you're looking to go a little further afield, why not head on a backpacking break now that summer is almost here. It's the perfect time to escape the cloudy showers in the UK and experience a new culture abroad. Thailand and Vietnam are popular destinations at this time of year and with their friendly local people, fascinating culture and delicious street food, who could fail to fall in love with either of these locations?

Of course, you could catch the sun a little closer to home and head to a great British seaside resort such as Blackpool or Brighton. Enjoy a ride on the Ferris wheel, munch some chips and play in the arcades - but don't forget to pack your coat, it's still a bit chilly out there!
