Spring Sun-Seeker Top Destinations

Knossos palace at Crete

With the weather so changeable here in the UK and April showers around every corner, seeking out some spring sunshine might be top on your list of priorities. But where are the best destinations for guaranteed fun in the sun this spring? There are plenty of options, whether you fancy a trip to Europe, the USA or further afield.

Turkey

Turkey in April is pleasantly warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 13 to 23 degrees centigrade - so some days it's warm enough for the beach, whilst other, cooler days are perfect for sightseeing. Turkey in the summer months can be unpleasantly hot for some people, so if you fancy seeing a bit more of what your resort has to offer, a spring break to Turkey is just the ticket. The Turkish Riviera is the perfect place to relax and unwind if you're looking for that kind of thing, whilst there are plenty of secluded coves and family-friendly beaches in the Bodrum area.

Crete

With average temperatures in Greece ranging from 14 to 21 degrees this spring, it's the perfect time for a sightseeing break. Crete is rich in history, and you'll find plenty to keep kids of all ages amused, if you're enjoying a family holiday. From open air museums to wineries and beaches where you can try scuba diving and snorkelling, you'll never be bored. Don't miss the 16th-century Venetian fortress and the ruins of Knossos.

Miami

Miami, Florida is a great place to work on your tan this April, with temperatures reaching up to 28 degrees centigrade. But there's more to Miami than just beaches and bars - the city also offers world- class restaurants, free cultural festivals and exhibitions throughout the year. What is more, with spas offering a huge range of treatments, your holiday to Miami can be as relaxed or action-packed as you would like it to be. Don't forget your single trip travel insurance if you're heading off abroad this spring - it protects you should you become ill on holiday, or lose your possessions.

South Africa

Fancy a scorcher of a spring break? Then we recommend a week (or two) in sunny South Africa, where temperatures peak at around 34 degrees in April! It's prime beach weather, but you'll find plenty to keep you busy in South Africa's cities too. Whether you head for Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban, South Africa is a great spot for families and couples. Take a hop-on, hop-off bus tour around Jo'Burg, have a sobering visit to the Apartheid Museum or explore the colourful Indian District of Durban with its markets and bazaars. Durban's Golden Mile beaches are perfect for families seeking a relaxing holiday in the sun.

Don't forget your cheap single trip travel insurance, no matter where your spring holiday takes you. You never know what could happen abroad.
