One Off Travel Insurance
Passport? Check. Tickets? Check. Sun cream and bikini? Check. When going on holiday most people have a list of essentials that they wouldn't dream of travelling without.
However, worryingly, travel insurance doesn't also feature high on everyone's priorities yet it's something that should be first on the list.
If nothing has ever gone wrong on a holiday then you might think that insurance is just another way to con you out of your hard earned pennies. However, when you consider that an air ambulance back to Britain from the US could cost as much as £49,000 - a cost you would have to pay yourself - it seems ludicrous to consider travelling without cover.
But whilst you might be happy to spend your money on a new holiday wardrobe, having to cough up for insurance is nowhere near as much fun. The good news is that it is easy to find low cost one off travel insurance whether you are simply going for a long weekend in Europe or a family holiday to Australia.
Many holidaymakers opt to put together their own flights and accommodation rather than rely on a package deal as it provides a greater level of flexibility. However, when you are booking your flights you may well be offered travel insurance and it can be tempting to simply agree to save yourself the trouble of sorting it out.
But opting for the travel policy offered could mean that you aren't insured for everything you think you are, or don't have the right amount of cover for what you need. It can also work out more expensive so it's always a good idea to do a bit of research first to find out what else is available.
Hopefully you will never have to make a claim on your travel insurance policy but if you do, you will be grateful that you took the time to get the right cover in place. And one thing's for certain...if you are one of the unlucky ones, you will never contemplate travelling without insurance again.
