Luxury staycations and gadgets
More Brits than ever before are choosing a staycation here in the UK over a holiday abroad. There are plenty of options for couples, families and solo travellers to choose from, including holiday cottages by the sea, family activity holidays and luxury spa breaks. If you are planning a luxury staycation where you are going to be enjoying some serious relaxation, there are some essentials you must make sure you pack.
Stay connected
You might want a break from work on your staycation, but without any EU or worldwide roaming charges to worry about when it comes to calls and data, packing your smartphone could be a smart move! Posting holiday snaps to Facebook, catching up with friends and family on WhatsApp and even checking the news can help you to stay connected on holiday and make those long lazy days at the beach or in the spa a bit more interesting.
Stay entertained
Packing a tablet for your holiday is also a great idea ‒ how else are you going to complete the next level of Angry Birds or watch a film? If you are travelling with children, a tablet is a great way to keep them entertained on road trips or back at your accommodation. If data is going to be an issue, download plenty of games, TV shows and films before you set off and you can enjoy a peaceful, relaxing break.
Stay relaxed
Reading is one of the best ways to relax, but who wants to take up luggage space with a pile of bestsellers, even if you are holidaying close to home? Packing your e-reader means you can take as many books with you as you like ‒ you can even download new ones if you run out of reading material mid-staycation or decide you are in the mood for something different.
Stay protected
With your smartphone, camera, tablet and e-reader ‒ not to mention your MP3 player for tunes ‒ it makes sense to stay protected on your staycation. Make sure you organise gadget travel insurance before you head off on holiday, as this ensures your gadgets are protected if they are damaged, lost or stolen on your break. This would be a huge relief if the worst happened! You don't have to go abroad to have a great holiday ‒book a staycation this autumn and you could save money on flights that could go towards booking a luxury break closer to home.
