Holiday Destinations and the Diamond Jubilee Tour

As the Queen tours the UK as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations, she is passing through many great holiday destinations. Why not use your summer holiday as an opportunity to see her during her Jubilee tour?

The tour started back in March and while some top destinations have already been visited by the Queen, there are plenty more to go. After the Central Diamond Jubilee Weekend, it starts up again.

On June 25th, she will be visiting the beautiful town of Henley-on-Thames. Henley is the perfect destination for those who want to explore the outer reaches of the Thames on a boating holiday.

From the 2nd to the 6th of July, the Queen will be carrying out her tour of Scotland. This will include the beautiful city of Edinburgh, one of Scotland's finest tourist hotspots. As well as seeing the Queen you can walk the Royal Mile or visit Scotland's biggest attraction, Edinburgh Castle.

From the 11-12 July, the tour heads south again as it passes though the West Midlands. This includes stops at both Hereford and Worcester. This area is rightfully named the Heart of England and it's the perfect place to enjoy a quiet holiday. In this region you can visit chocolate-box villages and the ancient Forest of Dean and walk along the River Wye. You could also pay a visit to the Cotswolds – an area that is the epitome of Englishness.

On the 25th of July, the Queen will be in the south of England visiting the Isle of Wight and the New Forest. This is just in time for the school holidays and these are both child-friendly destinations where the kids can enjoy a holiday they will never forget.
