Half-term family breaks

Dusk-time View of Tower Bridge in London Keeping the children entertained at half term can sometimes feel like a full-time challenge for busy mums and dads. If you are looking for an easier way to keep them happy, why not enjoy a little half-term sunshine by taking off on holiday?

A short half-term break is the perfect way to keep all ages happy while enjoying a little relaxation yourselves. Where should you head to this half term? We have a few great ideas for last-minute breaks in the UK and abroad this month.

Stay close to home

You are not guaranteed sunshine if you stay in the UK, but why not head to London for a break with the family and take the children to see a show such as Wicked, Matilda or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Pick up a family Thames Cruise ticket and take to the water, or wander around London's colourful markets.

Sun, sea and sand

If you prefer your holidays a little sunnier, consider Tenerife. This island has a great climate year round and is still pretty hot at this time of year. Popular with couples and families, you will find all-inclusive breaks to Tenerife are excellent value for money.

Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary Islands, with amazing beaches and plenty of activities such as water sports ‒ or you can just relax and work on your tan.

A little culture

If there is one thing the whole family will enjoy this half term, it is a trip to Egypt to see the pyramids. Sharm el-Sheikh has far more to offer than just amazing history, however, with crystal clear waters offering excellent scuba diving opportunities, water sports and even glass-bottomed boat trips, plus beautiful beaches, camel safaris and colourful markets.

Something for the children

You can often pick up great last-minute deals for a break to one of the Disney resorts, whether you decide to go to Disneyland Paris or Walt Disney World in Florida. This is a holiday the children will always remember and a chance for the whole family to get some half-term sunshine this year. Wherever you head, don't forget to check that your passport is still valid and that you have arranged your family travel insurance before you set off. It is important to know that if anything goes wrong on your family break, you will be protected.
