Five UK Family Festive Days Out For Children And Adults
Do you want to get the children − and yourself − into the festive spirit early this year? We've got five great UK family days out to get you in the mood for Christmas − there is something for all ages here.
#1. Winter Wonderland, Cardiff
Set against a stunning backdrop of ice sculptures, you will find an Alpine village, fairground and an open-air ice rink at Cardiff's Winter Wonderland this year. Open until 3rd January, entry to this fantastic family day out is completely free and you can enjoy ice skating sessions from just £6.
#2. Enchanted Narnia, Jersey
A brilliant day out for adults and children of all ages, Jersey's Enchanted Narnia lets you step through a wardrobe into a winter woodland with an immersive walk and plenty of surprises that we won't spoil. There is even theac chance to meet Father Christmas himself. Open until Christmas Eve, family ticket prices range from £30-£42 and can be booked online.
#3. Frosted Fairground at Dreamland, Margate, Kent
Margate's Dreamland amusement park in Kent is transformed into a festive winter wonderland until 2nd January this year. Entry is free, but we recommend purchasing ride tickets online to avoid long queues. There is the chance to meet Santa, festive Christmas markets for mum and dad, and carol singing to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
#4. Winterville, Victoria Park, East London
Trust uber-hip East London to do something different for Christmas. This adults-only Christmas pop-up is pretty cool, as Winterville is home to a vaudeville-style Victorian bazaar, woodland cinema and a range of immersive dining experiences. It is like being transported to another world. Open until 27th December, entry is free and tickets for the events can be booked online.
#5. Virgin Money's Street of Light, Edinburgh
Virgin Money's Street of Light runs until Christmas Eve and is a chance to see the Old Town illuminated in all its glory. It is free to attend but you will need to book tickets online in advance and wrap up warm, as Edinburgh in winter can be pretty chilly. Over 60,000 colourful lights will illuminate Edinburgh's Royal Mile, synchronised to live choir music. A little something special to get you in the mood for Christmas, there are two performances a night − but hurry, as tickets are selling out fast. The run-up to Christmas can be a bit of a busy and stressful time, so treat yourself to a family day out at one of these great events this year.
