Family Friendly Resorts
If you're looking for a child-friendly destination for your family summer holiday or mid-term break, but are also watching the pennies, then you could do far worse than these family friendly resorts, which we think are perfect for kids of all ages.
The English Riviera
So many of us jet off abroad on holiday that we often don't stop to think about the great destinations that are closer to home, such as The English Riviera. So called for its continental climate, the English Riviera lies on the South Devonshire coast and is a great spot for outdoors enthusiasts, families and couples.
There's plenty for all ages to see and do here. From pirate days out and 'sea-fari' wildlife boat trips to watersports and adrenaline sports. You can even enjoy a spot of wreck diving or night fishing and at the end of a long day of sightseeing and exploring, retire to your cosy fishermen's cottage by the sea.
Try a tempting taste of the area's seafood specialities - Devonshire crab and mackerel are popular choices here. A stay on the English Riviera is budget-friendly too, whether you choose to stop off in bustling Torquay, spend a weekend in pretty Paignton or discover the delights of the fish market in the quaint fishing village of Brixham.
Playo de Muro, Majorca
Majorca is a great spot for a kid-friendly break that won't cost the earth and you'll find many family hotels offering kids clubs and childcare in the beachside resort of Playo de Muro.
Why not book a stay at the Aparthotel Alcudia Pins, where you can enjoy an all-inclusive stay with soft play and toddler time provided for under 3's, as well as a kids club, pool and playground for 3 - 11 year olds.
There's sure to be plenty to keep the kids entertained and the hotel is situated right on the beach, perfect for paddling and sandcastle building competitions. Don't forget to take out travel insurance to cover you before you set off - this is particularly important if you're travelling with children, as medical care in European countries can be much more expensive than in the UK.
Always make sure you're protected in case anything goes wrong.
Whether you choose a destination abroad, such as a family-friendly resort in Spain or Greece, or somewhere a little closer to home, such as Blackpool or Brighton, you're sure to have a great family holiday - look for destinations with on-site facilities to keep kids of all ages amused.
Why not consider camping or caravanning for a great budget holiday and the ideal way to introduce the kids to the great outdoors?
