Exotic Destinations
If you're looking to find exotic destinations for your honeymoon or a romantic break, here are five exotic destiations that you should consider.
1. Thailand
Thailand is one of the most diverse, beautiful locations on the planet. Whether you spend your time partying until dawn, lazing on the beaches (many of which are completely deserted), island hopping or exploring the hill-top temples, there's plenty here to tempt everyone. The local cuisine is to die for - try locally prepared Tom Yum soup for a hot, spicy, sour and sweet taste sensation that's typical of Thai food.
2. Morocco
Whilst you might never have thought of Morocco as an exotic location, you'd be missing out if you let this gem of a destination slip through your fingers! Whether you head for Casablanca, explore the medinas of Marrakech or visit the spice market in Tangiers, you're guaranteed a holiday to remember. Vibrant North African culture is evident around every corner; just hop on a camel ride across the Sahara to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
3. Nepal
No top 5 would be complete without somewhere away from the usual beach resorts and Nepal is perfect for those looking to explore. Trek to the ancient temples and monasteries of the Himalayas, check out Buddha's birthplace or head off on safari, where you might be lucky enough to spot wild tigers or rhino.
4. Fiji
Ah, Fiji, with its pristine white sandy beaches, lush vegetation and deep jungles, it is a location just crying out to be explored. The locals are super-friendly, the food is out of this world and whether you're looking for a budget break in a beach hut or a fortnight at a luxury resort, Fiji can cater for you. Try some 'Kokoda'- a type of ceviche which is a heavenly mixture of raw white fish, coconut cream, lime, lemon, onions and tomatoes. The acid from the fruit cooks the fish, but be careful, it's very spicy.
5. Zanzibar
The island of Zanzibar lies just off the Tanzanian coast and is renowned for its sultan's palaces and the winding medinas of the Stone Town. It's a tropical island getaway and you need do nothing more than relax and soak up the sun, if you wish. Fishing and watersports are also popular here.
Make sure you don't spoil your special time by getting the right travel insurance for your trip.
