Seeing Eastern Europe in style: The Orient Express

The luxury train is perhaps more famous for its trips elsewhere, but the Orient Express has now added a trip round Eastern Europe to its list of destinations. Taking in many of the sights and sounds that those on backpacker travel insurance most often frequent, such as Krakow, the train journey offers the opportunity to visit the cultural cities of Eastern Europe in style.

For those wanting a holiday of a lifetime with a difference, travelling on the Orient Express with a single trip travel insurance policy will save some pennies. However, the train retains all of its famous opulence, with the original carriages still in use and Art Deco features adorning the panelled walls. Dinner aboard the train is a formal affair with men in black ties or suits and women in cocktail dresses, a far cry from a normal trip on British Rail.

The Eastern European excursion travels along the rails from tourist hotspot Venice to Krakow, onto the formerly war-ravaged Dresden and then back to London. The itinerary allows for 2 nights each in both Krakow and Dresden, allowing passengers the chance to really explore the cities.

Krakow is a popular destination for those exploring Europe on their backpacker travel insurance, a beautiful and quaint town with a 14th century castle, river and even a small beach. The generous stopover means there is plenty of time to see all the sights, even the thought-provoking and tragic venue of Auschwitz, located nearby.

The next stopover in Dresden showcases the impressive re-building of the city, much of which was destroyed in the war. Former palaces, botanical gardens and galleries with art from the greats such as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Raphael are all on the list of things to do in the city.

And then onwards to Paris and back home to London, with many saying the holiday enjoyed on their single trip travel insurance was a once in a lifetime experience.
