Save Money on your Travel Insurance

If you’re booking last minute the chances of you cancelling are much less – so look for an insurance policy with little or no cancellation fee to save yourself up to 15% of the cost of the policy.

Hand luggage only

Try and pack hand luggage only – you’ll avoid charges from the airline and your cover will be cheaper.

Minimum number of nights

Check you don’t need to stay for a minimum number of nights on the policy. For overseas travel, generally, there is no minimum requirement, but for travel in the UK insurers will look for a minimum of 2 or 3 nights’ accommodation to be booked for it to be considered a holiday – and if you don’t stay that long, you might not be covered.

Insure for delays and disruption

Check you have supplier failure and/or extended travel delay in your policy. If something goes wrong through no fault of your own, most policies will only cover the original amount paid or pay a small benefit which is not much use if you are going on a 2 or 3 day break.

Get replacement travel providers with insurefor.com

Insurefor.com covers for a replacement flight, sea crossing or train journey up to £1,500 if your original is cancelled and no alternative is provided within 12 hours.

Don’t let a strike or supplier bankruptcy kill the romance!
